Welcome to the second newsletter for ‘About Them Shoes’!!
For those of you who keep in touch via our Twitter and Facebook accounts you will know that we promised you a very exciting announcement before the end of the week. Well, the wait is almost over, but it’s even better than you had originally hoped as there are actually two things to tell you all about.
Firstly, you may recall that in the last newsletter we mentioned that we were hoping that the Brickmakers gig on the 11th July was going to be extra special. We are now pleased to confirm that this gig is going to be professionally recorded and mixed for our first recordings which will be used to help promote the band and on our website for the world to hear …. and see, as there will be a DVD too!! It is therefore important that we get as many of you guys over to The Brickies as possible on the 11th to make this a great evening with a full house and plenty of atmosphere. Be a part of history and get yourself recorded on to the About Them Shoes Live at The Brickmakers CD!!
The second big announcement is that About Them Shoes are going to be headlining at The Appleyard Fayre held at the Appleyard Meadow in Banham. It is a wonderful event that runs all day with Arts & Crafts, Demonstrations, BBQ and Live Music all of which raises valuable money for Norfolk Young Carers and other local charities. The time of our set is likely to be approximately 9 pm in the evening for around an hour, so do come along and support the band at their first headlining event, together with the work of these worthwhile charities.
Hugh has continued to keep the About Them Songs page on our website updated with all the new songs in our repertoire, and we hope to be showcasing a brand new, never heard before tune at our next gig co-written by one Mr H Lynch and our good friend and supporter Dave Gray.Keep an eye out for that one, it promises to be really special.
As you probably know our next public gig is at The Rumsey Wells on St Andrews Street in the city on 6th June, so if the date is not already in your diary make sure it is as we would love to see as many of our friends there as possible. We want to Rock The Rumsey!
Don’t forget that we are now on Facebook and Twitter, and we need to get as many followers as we can, so we can spread the ATS word! So go ahead and Like, Follow, Tweet, Post etc., etc. and if you don’t follow the band at the moment perhaps you could take a moment to do that for us. Then why not go onto our facebook page and vote for your favourite ATS song, as it would be good to hear what you guys like?
Please remember that the band are available for private functions so if you know of anyone who is looking to hire a band to play at a party please ask them to get in touch with us.
A favour please! Could each of you mention us to a friend and ask if they want to receive our newsletter, they simply need to use this link to email firstname.lastname@example.org and their email address will be added to the growing list of subscribers who automatically receive the newsletter in their inbox!
Take care and we hope to see you at the Rumsey Wells on the 6th!
