Welcome to the very first newsletter for ‘About Them Shoes’!
After the band’s first successful gig at The Brickmakers we have been rehearsing hard, working on new songs as well as fine tuning those already in our repertoire. Hugh has updated the About Them Songs page on our website, so why not have a look to see what you can look forward to hearing, as we hope to be showcasing some of the new tunes at our next gig.
Many of you will already be aware but our next public gig is at Banham Barrel on 27th April. It promises to be quite a night, so if the date is not already in your diary make sure it is as we would love to see as many of our friends and family there as possible. Let’s Rock The Barrel!
If Banham proves to be a little too far for you, or you’re already booked up for the evening then don’t worry as the band are playing the Rumsey Wells, on St Andrews Street in the city on 6th June. Then we are back at the Brickmakers on 11th July, and we are hoping that this will be an extra special gig but can’t tell you anymore than that at the moment, as certain things need to be confirmed first. Make sure and look out for our next newsletter when we should be able to let you know more!
Hopefully you’ve all had a chance to look at our website, which we are developing further as things move along. However we are always open to suggestions, so feel free to contact us and put your ideas forward. Anyone who knows Will is aware that he has this mean set of wheels where there is always a story to tell, so one idea is to put a blog on there called “Will’s Wagon – the adventures of a long suffering set of wheels!” What do you think?
The final, and exciting piece of news is that we are now on Facebook and Twitter. There are links on the website so go ahead and Like, Follow, Tweet, Post etc., etc.! It all helps to spread the message, and don’t forget that the band are available for private functions so if you hear of anyone who is looking to hire a band to play at a party please recommend us.
Take care and we hope to see you at the Banham Barrel on the 27th!
